American Traveler is hiring a Med / Surg Tele RN for a night shift contract requiring a CA RN license, 2 years' experience, and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Provide care on a Medical / Surgical Telemetry unit in a hospital settingPatient population includes adults requiring med / surg and telemetry careNight shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00Every other weekend requiredOn-call coverage as neededMay float to other units within the scope of practice, including to other campusesTravelers must be flexible regarding floating and may receive float notification within 1.5 hours prior to shiftShuttle service available for floating between campusesEpic EMR is used; prior Epic experience is preferredResponsibilities include assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for med / surg tele patientsDuties involve direct patient care, education, individualized care plans, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teamsDelegation of tasks to team members based on scope of practiceOngoing patient / family education and participation in care transitionsRequired to document all care and updates in the electronic health recordModules and orientation are completed through e-learning and included as part of the onboarding processOnly one holiday RTO will be approved during the contractCandidates must be mindful of safety, confidentiality, and compliance with all regulations and policies\n \n Requirements\n
Active and valid CA RN license required at the time of considerationCurrent AHA certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg Telemetry experience requiredTelemetry and EKG experience required; EKG preferredEpic charting experience preferredMust be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signingMust live at least 50 miles from the facility; locals accepted at a lower rateAll certifications must be current and in hand at the time of considerationReturning staff must have been gone for at least 1 year to return as a traveler\n Benefits\n
