Payroll and Benefits Specialist - i2G (Remote - Midwest or East Coast)

Position Overview

i2G Systems is seeking a Payroll / Benefits Specialist who brings precision, partnership, and a solutions-oriented mindset to every pay cycle and benefits administration task. This role plays a key part in ensuring every team member across our growing footprint is paid accurately, on time, and receives seamless benefits support-all in full compliance with state and federal requirements.

As i2G continues to expand into new markets, this position will help shape how we scale payroll and benefits operations, supporting new location setups, implementing and optimizing HRIS / Payroll systems, and strengthening the processes that keep our teams supported.

Some business travel may required (5%)

Responsibilities

Payroll Responsibilities (75%) :

• Process the full payroll cycle (e.g., weekly / biweekly / semi-monthly) for hourly and salaried employees, including new site locations.
• Manage employee data in the payroll and HRIS systems : new hires, terminations, status changes, transfers, pay rate changes, garnishments, etc.
• Participate in or lead the implementation / configuration of payroll and HRIS systems : working with vendors, assisting testing, data conversion, and roll-out for new locations during the transition from ADP / QuickBooks to Dayforce or Workday.
• Maintain and audit payroll records and reconciliations : general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, benefit deductions, tax withholdings, garnishments, benefit contributions, etc.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll tax laws and regulations, wage and hour laws, employee classification rules, unemployment insurance, wage attachments / garnishments, and reporting requirements.
• Assist with quarterly / annual tasks : tax filings / remittances, W-2 / W-3 processing, 1099s where applicable, year-end payroll close, audits, and regulatory filings.
• Monitor changes in payroll legislation (multi-state as applicable), interpret impacts to the organization, and proactively recommend updates to policies / procedures.
• Partner with HR to develop payroll process improvements, standard operating procedures, and controls to support accuracy, efficiency and scalability.
