Environmental Services Technician Housekeeper

Housekeeping Position

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. Pay rate : Depending on experience. Shift : Full-time, 40 hrs / wk (Day Shift : 9 : 00am - 5 : 30pm), includes working every weekend with two days off during the week. Will be required to work at least four holidays throughout the year.

Location : Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT. These positions may include heavy lifting. This position is a relief position which means they will be covering all areas of the hospital, like Same Day Surgery, Operating Rooms, Intensive Care Units, public areas, etc.

Essential Functions

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
• Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
• Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
