About This Role

Responsible for the leadership and administration of the Florida Partnership for Minority and Underrepresented Student Achievement (MUSA) grant. Provides direction and oversight of statewide programs, preparing middle and high school students with equal and equitable opportunities to take full advantage of education opportunities, college access, and completion. This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.

What a Day of an Executive Director, Student Achievement Looks Like :

Participates in and manages all phases of a project. Plans and oversees the preparations and dissemination of project communications.

  • Develops short-term and long-term goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations. Manages and provides guidance, direction, and observation of staff you supervise directly and indirectly. This includes but is not limited to conducting performance appraisals, goal setting, career and performance counseling, and identification and evaluation of training and development needs for staff.
  • Monitors and ensures the preparation and submission of reports of grant-funded programs to include goals, objectives, outcomes, deliverables, and all other contract terms. Ensures the timeliness, content, and professional quality of grant reporting requirements to the funding agency.
  • Formulates, develops, and implements policies and procedures. Responds to complex inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources regarding a variety of questions. Ensures compliance with program and budgetary terms set forth within the grant document. Monitors expenditure and revenue patterns and adjusts the budget as needed.
  • Develops and maintains a collaborative partnership with senior leadership of the twenty-eight Florida College System institutions and school districts across Florida. Develops and executes memorandum of understanding and commitment letters with principals at participating schools.
  • Oversees the design, development, and implementation of programs for middle and high school teachers, counselors, parents, and students in the region. Evaluates the effectiveness and success of programs after implementation.
  • Maintains current knowledge of field or profession. Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional events outside of college locations, as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience :

  • Master's degree
  • Six years of related full-time experience with experience in supervision
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of :

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
  • Products and resources available to prepare students for college
  • Skilled in :

  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Managing and resolving conflict in a positive manner
  • Motivating subordinates to apply the effort necessary to attain organizational and departmental goals
  • Strategic thinking including effective planning, setting goals, monitoring progress, tracking results, and making appropriate adjustments to plans based on circumstances and context
  • Ability to :

  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Work in an alternate environment based on program or college need
  • Effectively promote programs
  • Create a collegial, team-building work environment, motivating staff, and cultivating productive, collaborative relationships with all constituent groups
  • Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements :

  • Regular physical attendance required

    Education and Experience :

  • Grant management experience
  • Experience collaborating and partnering with community stakeholders
  • Work Environment And Physical Demand :

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, install, or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds

  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Stand for extended periods of time

  • Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury
  • Work a fluctuating work schedule

    The minimum base pay for this position starts at $81,455.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate's education and experience.
