As a Senior Machine Operator you will be responsible for the setup, operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of bespoke manufacturing machinery. The ideal candidate will be technically minded, proactive, and capable of assisting with diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in a fast-paced factory environment alongside working as a skilled operator.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Machine Operator :
- Operate and monitor manufacturing machinery to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Perform preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and minor upgrades to equipment.
- Assist with diagnosing faults and troubleshooting issues related to mechanical and electrical components.
- Support the reduction of production waste and contribute to overall process efficiency.
- Work in collaboration with the Technical Supervisor and other team members to achieve production KPIs.
- Adhere to Health & Safety and best practices at all times.
- Assist with the installation of 110V and 220V systems (training provided).
- Working with the Technical Supervisor to change mechanical components such as motors, pumps, valves, chain drives, and PLC-controlled systems (training provided).
Person Specification for the Senior Machine Operator :
Essential :
Proven experience operating and maintaining industrial or manufacturing machinery.Strong mechanical aptitude and a problem-solving mindset.Willingness to learn new technical skills and systems.Basic understanding of electrical systems.Excellent attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to follow procedures and adhere to safety standards.Desirable :
Experience with PLC-controlled equipment or automation systems.Welding experience.Experience working in a continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environment.Technical or vocational qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering.Working Conditions :
