Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as an Acute Care Patient Care Technician. This role involves providing compassionate, routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for patients and staff alike.

Job Summary

As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform a variety of technical and direct care tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, telemetry support, EKG acquisition, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with patient mobility and personal hygiene. You will also support administrative duties such as documenting patient data, transcribing physician orders, and coordinating diagnostic tests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant license.
  • Assist with patient transport, personal care, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to call lights and requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and supplies.
  • Participate actively in team efforts and emergency response codes.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
  • One to two years of experience in a patient care setting, preferably acute care.
  • Telemetry experience is a plus.
  • Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of patient care practices and age-specific care principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and professional demeanor.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and medical telemetry equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Physical Requirements

    Ability to lift and carry varying weights, stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks required for patient care.
