Job Description

Job Description

William James College, located in Newton, MA, just 15 minutes from Boston, is excited to invite applications for a Core faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in our well-established online Applied Behavior Analysis program within the School Psychology Department, starting August 2026. The ABA program is expanding and offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and collaboration. Besides mentoring future ABA professionals, faculty will help shape the growth of the academic program as we pursue accreditation from the Association for Behavior Analysis International. This is a unique chance to join a dynamic, collaborative faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching, clinical practice, community service, and applied research.

This position involves teaching, advising, content development, and administrative duties across the ABA program, School Psychology Department, and William James College.

As a core faculty member, you will play a vital role in:

  • Teaching graduate-level courses aligned with the standards of the Association for Behavior Analysis International
  • Advising students throughout their academic careers
  • Serving on dissertation committees across the college within your area of expertise
  • Contributing to scholarly productivity, professional presentations, scholarly writing, and applied research.

We are especially interested in candidates who are passionate about promoting behavioral health equity in underserved communities and reducing disparities in clinical care. A strong background in clinical practice and expertise in graduate-level teaching are highly appreciated. Opportunities for specialized teaching will be offered based on your interests and areas of expertise.

The WJC School Psychology and ABA faculty form a close-knit, collaborative, and supportive team that values student growth, meaningful mentorship, community involvement, and innovation. We take pride in our legacy and are excited about our growing program. If you're ready to contribute to a thriving program and help shape its ongoing development, we encourage you to apply.

Rank and salary are commensurate with experience, along with highly competitive benefits. The starting salary for this position begins at $90,000 and aligns with the department’s salary equity policies for new faculty.

William James College is committed to active, intentional engagement with diversity—in people, curriculum, co-curricular activities, and the college’s social, cultural, and geographical communities. The college supports a framework of inclusive excellence, recognizing that institutional success depends on embracing diversity in all aspects.

Qualifications include:

  • A Master’s Degree in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or a related field
  • Holding and maintaining national certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Holding and maintaining licensure to practice Applied Behavior Analysis in applicable states
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing or supervising behavior-analytic work
  • Experience presenting behavior-analytic content to audiences (e.g., presentations, teaching experience)
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of applying behavior analysis in online teaching, creating academic materials, and engaging students
  • Ongoing involvement in clinical practice or consultation, or a strong track record of such work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting multicultural competence and a willingness to contribute to the College’s strategic plan for inclusion.
  • We welcome applications from individuals with nontraditional career paths, those who have taken time off for family reasons, or those with distinguished careers outside academia.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A doctoral degree in Behavior Analysis or a related field with substantial training in Behavior Analysis
  • Professional affiliations in behavior analysis (e.g., ABAI, APBA, BABAT)
  • At least 5 years of experience implementing or supervising behavior-analytic work
  • A history of conducting, presenting, or publishing behavior-analytic research.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
