ABOUT THE JOB

The Director of Strategic Sourcing (Commodities) directs corporate approaches and strategies for purchasing, supplier development, and commodity pricing, ensuring competitive pricing, strong supplier relations, and an overall competitive advantage for GSF.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Negotiates prices for all GSF sites to ensure competitive pricing and strong supplier relationships for all manufacturing sites. (25%)
• Develop commodity hedging strategies to maintain GSF’s competitive advantage. (25%)
• Coordinates cost reduction activities with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Product Development to obtain the most competitive pricing and costs company wide. (20%)
• Interact formally and informally with vendors to communicate GSF values, mission, and strategic directions to enhance their ability to help GSF reach its objectives. (10%)
• Disseminates information regarding pricing trends and assured supply issues to provide senior management and McDonalds’ and other customers’ purchasing with timely and accurate information for effective decision-making. (5%)
• Evaluates supplier plants to provide accurate and timely data regarding the top 80% of materials purchased. (5%)
• Evaluates new suppliers to provide information on financial strength and operational capabilities. (5%)
• Performs other related and assigned duties, as necessary. (5%)

LEADERSHIP / MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

Manage up to 4 employees.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Education and experience equivalent to :

Education / Certification :

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or economics, from an accredited college or university.

Experience :

10 years of relevant experience in commodity management or purchasing in multi-site food manufacturing.
