Payroll Specialist I

The Payroll Specialist I (not remote) is responsible for delivering exceptional quality service and effective communication with their team and external customers. The main responsibility of this role is to prepare and process multi-state payrolls in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and process multi-state full-cycle payrolls including hours, vacation time, garnishments, insurance, and 401(k) deductions.
• Monitor electronic timekeeping systems and review for completeness and accuracy.
• Review and approve employee portal changes on a third-party notification system.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure all payroll transactions are entered accurately and correctly.
• Review automated system outputs before and after submitting to a third-party vendor.
• Research and address any payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely manner.
• Prepare and distribute Prevailing Wage supporting documents.
• Prepare payroll-related entries for accounting each payroll cycle.
• Partner with HR on all matters involving employees compensation, benefits, and disability payments, including 401(k) contributions and other payroll funding.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State labor and employment tax legislation and regulations.
• Prepare materials for internal or external auditors as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
