Job Summary : The Supportive Counselor will be under the direction / supervision of the Clinical Director and is responsible for performing basic activities of a Supportive Counselor to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, efficient, quality recovery support, patient care, and recovery tools to the substance abuse patients being treated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
Associates with two years experience working with SUD population and / or children and families

Strong Interpersonal skills
Excellent Communication and listening skills
Ability to build rapport quickly
Detail oriented
Ability to communicate with compassion and empathy
Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks Certifications
All certifications will be required to be completed prior to start date with revalidation per companys policy
HIPAA
Adult CPR - First Aid
Blood Borne Pathogens
CPI validation required within 30 days of employment with revalidation per companys policy.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and their client
Participates as an integral professional member of an interdisciplinary
treatment team led by a clinical director
Assists the treatment team in the development and implementation of a
treatment plan specific with developmental needs and / or required intervention.
Helps their client to find ways to resolve issues they might be having
Give support, listen to people and help them talk over their problems.
Keep notes and documentation of interactions with clients
Always follow organizations policies and procedure
Perform any other duties assigned
