One River School of Art + Design is hiring: Art Teacher / Art Education Assistan

Art Teacher / Art Education Assistant Director - Full Time

What you’ll do:

• Teach Art and/or Digital Design Classes: Teach weekly art and/or digital art classes and summer camps for a variety of ages and media.
• Ensure Student Success: Actively engage with students and teachers to observe, document, and communicate their progress and opportunities for growth.
• Provide Hospitality Service & Communication: Conduct proactive check‑ins with parents, students, and families, support makeup scheduling, discuss student progress and opportunities for growth, upsell to additional classes/camps.
• Implement One River Methodology Curriculum: Ensure teachers have lesson plans/resources on time and implement the One River Method through each class effectively and contribute to lesson plan development regularly.
• Run a best‑in‑class studio: Order and re‑stock art supplies, clean and organize studio spaces and student artwork, and oversee digital lab maintenance.
• Student Exhibitions: Collect, curate and install school & community exhibitions; plan and prompt the opening receptions for Student Shows and support parties and special events.

Requirements:

• BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for K-12 and/or adults. Digital art skills are a plus.
• Track record of high‑quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.
• Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment.
• Passion for art history, contemporary art and a “students‑first” mindset.

Schedule & Compensation:

• This is a Full‑time Position, 40 hours a week that includes 2 evenings a week and either Saturday or Sunday.
• Salary: $55,000‑$65,000 base + quarterly bonus eligibility.
