Description :

General Information :

The unit has 70 beds and employs a staff of approximately 120.

Day Shift staffing includes :

1 Charge Nurse

2 Resource Nurses

2 Admit Nurses

7-15 Registered Nurses

2 Patient Care Technicians

Night Shift staffing includes a patient ratio of 6 patients to 1 nurse for couplets.

Type of equipment utilized includes Electronic Medical Records.

Typical hiring profile favors candidates with Mother / Baby experience.

Preferred qualifications include NICU or postpartum experience.

Typical procedures performed include :

Mother / Baby care

Lactation support

Phototherapy

Blood sugar checks

IV antibiotics

The ideal candidate possesses a positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work as a team player.

Floating to a resource nurse role may occur on rare occasions.

Weekend shifts typically consist of 3-4 per schedule, and no on-call duty is required.
