Administrative & Operations Support
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) is recruiting for an experienced Marketing and Communications Program Manager. Under limited supervision, manages and coordinates statewide accountability activities for the School Nutrition Division supporting marketing and communications. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Establish communication program priorities by conducting reviews and needs assessment(s) of the state agency, local school systems, and non-traditional schools that identify gaps and include analyzed data collected through program evaluation
- Develop and implement an annual plan of work for the Communication team consistent with the School Nutrition Division strategic plan, operational plan, training calendar, state performance expectations, and budget limitations
- Recommend statewide policy and communication regarding the school nutrition program's regulatory issues; evaluating the effectiveness of program communication efforts and analyzing evaluation results; and following up on communication gaps
- Direct the design, formatting, and delivery of website, resources, templates, and training content to maximize the purpose and messaging of the School Nutrition Division for state and local program staff, administrators, and others involved in the administration and operation of the program
- Facilitate an effective system of communication; advancing regulatory compliance and program enhancement among local and state program personnel related to areas of responsibility
- Supervise and develop the assigned staff that oversee the social media platforms, website content, podcast, graphic, and resource development to maintain effective and aligned program messaging
- Analyze pertinent issues and initiating innovative projects that result in program communication improvement, and effectively supervise the assigned staff
- Support program communication efforts through a variety of media platforms and for a variety of audiences
- Foster communication efforts with external partners and other state agency divisions and offices
Note : Statewide travel and a home office are required
Preferred Qualifications
Strong video and social media experience with pre-production planning and post-production, including filming, editing, and uploading to a variety of platformsProficiency with CANVA and ADOBE Creative Cloud, specifically Premier Pro, Audition, and PhotoshopVideo podcast production experienceStrong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Drive, SharePoint, and Microsoft TeamsSchool Nutrition Specialist CertificationExperience with the development of print resourcesExperience with the development and delivery of training and technical assistanceExcellent interpersonal and supervisory skillsExcellent writing and communication skillsConsideration / interviews will begin as soon as a list of applicants is established.
