Job descriptionIndividual Contributor who can work on transformational tasks, critical issues & continuous improvement of our enterprise storage environment Lead mainframe storage IBM DS8K administration with experience in integration projects Responsible for all aspects the IBM DS8K storage environment to include sizing, forecasting, configuration Plan, design and implementation with minimum disruption to the business, back out procedure, and execution coordination Work with DASD, IBM storage environments in a z / OS operating system Disaster Recovery planning, configuration, and testing at regular intervals Perform daily storage management, product upgrades and configuration Review, approve and coordinate storage related changes Knowledge of 3rd party storage management products and reporting tools Execute all backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and related capabilities. Volume space and capacity management Evaluates capacity utilization and initiates projects to address areas of excess and shortages proactively and reports to management Maintain documentation of the storage environment A minimum of fifteen years of experience working in a mainframe storage environment Expert knowledge of IBM DS900 storage arrays to include SMS / Client routines and all configuration settings of the DS8K Expertise with SMS in an IBM mainframe environment
