Staff Power System Interconnection Engineer

Position Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power Systems Engineer to support the deployment and interconnection of large-scale PV and Energy Storage systems. This role requires experience and expertise with the interconnection of utility scale PV systems, Energy Storage systems, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and inverter based resources (IBRs) at the transmission and distribution levels, and a working knowledge of the interconnection requirements and processes of states, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Regional Transmission Operators (RTOs).

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead or assist customers with submission of interconnection applications for PV and Energy Storage projects under ISO, RTO, and utility-specific processes.
• Collaborate with project engineering, development, and permitting teams to ensure project designs comply with applicable state, ISO / RTO, utility and federal requirements.
• Translate ISO / RTO study requirements into technical guidance for product development teams.
• Support modeling and validation of inverter-based PV and storage systems per ISO / RTO / utility requirements (e.g., PSCAD, PSSE, PSLF, etc.).
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation required for interconnection studies, permitting, and compliance audits.
• Generate regulatory compliance checklists, risk assessments, and mitigation plans for each project.
• Support responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and compliance filings.
• Contribute to industry forums, standards committees, and working groups to shape emerging IBR regulations.

Qualifications / Requirements :

Salary : Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is 200,000.00 to 220,000.00.
