LocumJobsOnline is working with SUMO Medical Staffing to find a qualified Neonatal NP in Omaha, Nebraska, 68101!

About The Position

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Neonatology to work locum shifts in Omaha, Nebraska. Starting in January 2026, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

The Neonatology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant role :

  • Full time- 36 hours per week, ideally spread over the weekend.
  • Require at least 2 weekends in a 6 week period.
  • 36 bed
  • Trauma Level 3
  • Non-surgical NICU
  • Large delivery service : 280 deliveries per month.
  • Offer 24 and 12 hour shifts (No back to back 24 hours).
  • Will have Academic responsibilities of mentoring med students, residents, NNP Students and NNP Orientees.
  • Duties :  Daily management of neonates down to 22 weeks gestation, attend high risk deliveries
  • Neonatology group is from Creighton University + combined call from Children's Nebraska.
  • Required Procedures :  Intubation, Umbilical line placement, resuscitation, ventilation, lumbar puncture. PICC line insertion requires minimal documented procedures.
  • EMR :  EPIC
  • Support Staff :  RNs, RT, Pharmacist, Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Nutritionist
  • Deal breakers :  Must have great communication skills, ability to collaborate, ability to work autonomously, skilled in resuscitation.

Requirements of the Neonatology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant role :

  • NE state license; active, unrestricted
  • Board certified
  • Certification NRP and DEA
