Compassionate for oncology pt population and the chronic pts Quick learner Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first. Chemo and biotherapy certificate Step down experience, we use lots of standing orders (fluid bolus, first fever) and very acute hematology pts. List typical procedures performed on unit(s) : Lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsies with conscious sedation and no sedation Thoracentesis Best personality Fit : compassionate adaptable Unit Guidelines / Policies : Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines. We give lots of meds, blood and electrolyte replacements on this unit. (see policies attached) Please know you will not administer chemo / biotherapy, if you are not certified. You will be around hazardous drugs though. Education is provided for handling excreta. Unit of distinction is a competition in HCA for med-surg units in regards to all quality measures (evidence based practice, falls, CLABSI, CAUTI, healthiness and completeness of schedules, partnership with essential teams in house to decrease expense, certification for nurses, BSN and higher for nurses, RN turnover, etc). We won 2 of 600 of all of med-surg units nationwide of HCA. We have more primary nursing here and less use of PCTs (CNAs).
