Job description
Responsibilities :
To help start and grow a new branch office to support existing projects and clients we have in the region.
Gains a full understanding of the project objective, scope, deliverables, budget implications, and other factors that impact design activities.
Has experience in the design and design / build engineering design and construction modes of project delivery.
Establishes design criteria for specific projects including system selections and engineering energy analysis.
Takes responsible lead in the supervision of staff that executes calculations, design, equipment coordination, and detailing of engineered systems.
Manages the development of construction / equipment installation documents and project deliverables.
Performs and reviews analysis and design calculations and designates design and drawing activities to other project members.
Reviews and evaluates computer program and manual calculations for technical accuracy and compliance with established design criteria.
Coordinates with the project team and all design disciplines during the project.
Performs field surveys and prepares associated reports.
Assists in preparing estimates of probable costs (i.e., for construction, equipment installation, etc.) at various stages of design.
Performs periodic design reviews; ensures designs follow specifications, codes and regulations, and contract requirements. Ensures technical and quality standards are maintained.
Reviews and supervises the review of shop drawings for compliance with contract requirements and documents.
Requirements :
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires a great deal of adaptability and an open minded approach to accomplishing the company’s end goals.
15-20+ years experience.
Full understanding of HVAC system design including refrigeration, air and water distribution systems, and coordination of the design of these systems.
Knowledge of process piping, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
Knowledge of Mechanical Systems Codes and Standards.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
