Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee HVAC and plumbing construction projects from concept to completion. This individual will manage multiple large-scale mechanical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and financial management skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple mechanical construction projects simultaneously
- Supervise and mentor Project Engineers and General Superintendents
- Review and maintain contracts, subcontracts, and project documentation
- Coordinate planning and scheduling efforts with field operations
- Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost codes
- Prepare progress billings and review subcontractor payment applications
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracts
- Collaborate with design teams on design-build projects
- Lead project closeout processes and ensure timely completion
Financial Responsibilities
Oversee all financial aspects of assigned contractsReview estimates and ensure accurate project cost trackingPrepare and submit billings to maintain proper cash flowPerform ongoing cost and budget analysisMaintain overbilling targets ahead of costComplete closeout and lien processes to secure retainageQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 8 years of project management experience in mechanical contracting or related construction fieldsExperience in both new construction and renovation projectsProficiency with Timberline Accounting Software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), CAD, and related toolsStrong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systemsExperience in design-build and design-assist delivery methodsExcellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skillsProven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentMinimum of three years of experience managing Project Managers and Project EngineersCompensation and Benefits
