Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine appropriate welding process.
Set up manual and automated welding units and equipment.
Align, clamp, and assemble parts or fixtures for welding.
Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum components in all positions (flat, vertical, and overhead).
Use grinders and other hand or power tools to prepare joints, smooth welds, and clean workpieces.
Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications; rework or repair as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support other fabrication and assembly tasks as required.
Meet productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Successfully complete welding qualification tests within the required timeframe.
Qualifications / Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1 year of aluminum TIG and MIG welding experience; more for advanced roles.
Proficient in TIG (and preferably MIG) welding of aluminum, able to weld in all positions.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols.
Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools.
Strong attention to quality and ability to inspect completed work.
Physically able to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
Preferred : welding certifications (e.g., AWS) or experience with aluminum welding codes (such as AWS D1.2).
Work Environment
Manufacturing or fabrication shop environment with welding booths, jigs, and fixtures.
May require overtime or flexible shifts depending on production needs.
Must be able to work around heat, noise, and standard shop conditions.
