Showroom Development Representative
A Showroom Development Representative is responsible for both showroom support as well as sales development. Their showroom responsibilities include assisting clients with their project needs, providing design suggestions and application recommendations, creating an effortless and enjoyable shopping experience for the customer. Their sales development responsibilities, which expand once their showroom responsibilities are fully learned, include growing client accounts by focusing on cultivating relationships with current customers while also pursuing new accounts out in the field, distributing and promoting all new product lines.
Customer Service and Support
- Courteously help trade and walk-in customers select and order materials
- Answer customer questions in-person, via email, and on the phone
- Properly invoice orders
- Efficiently and accurately process orders and credits
- Receive payments at the time of invoicing or on-account
Product Knowledge
Answer (or find answers) to customer question on product availability, design-related and technical questions,Provide clients with current pricing, product changes, and order statusSet up and maintain client displays and merchandising samplesInventory and Operations
Accurately receive materials into inventoryPull, pack, and ship orders accurately and efficientlyProcure ordered materials from other vendors, if necessaryFacilitate returned merchandise with management approval and arrange appropriate reimbursement / creditAssist with conducting inventory countsMaintain showroom and sample department organization and presentationReporting and Communication
Report all sales activities to the branch manager or designated sales supervisorParticipate in weekly branch meetingAttend weekly corporate sales meetingSales Development Work
Service existing accounts with the goal of nurturing relationships and increasing salesKeep clients informed about new products and offerings through the organization and execution of informational product presentationsMonitor competition by gathering current information on pricing, products, and merchandising techniquesConduct cold calls and visit job sites to pursue new leadsIdentify and set up new accounts to increase market share and bolster overall sales volumeAnalyze client product needs, growth patterns, and market trendsVisit job sites in the event of a job problem and follow proper observation and recording protocolPromote Bedrosians products at various tradeshows and special eventsMaintain and increase professional and technical knowledge by reviewing product literature, manuals, and manufacturer bulletins, as well as attending vendor / manufacturer seminarsKnowledge, Skills and Experience :
College Degree focused on Design or equivalent experience1-3 years of retail sales or customer service experienceKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeProfessional Phone, Email, and Computer skillsKnowledge of color, tile and stone characteristicsProven sales record and high sales aptitudeDrivers License (must provide current MVR)Ability to make sound, independent judgmentsExcellent understanding of design and colorAbility to travel within the designated sales territoryFlexibility, self-motivation, and drive to meet and exceed sales goalsTake initiative to plan, organize, and complete assignments independentlyAble to work independently and work effectively as a member of a teamAble to handle regular interruptions to serve the needs of others while maintaining focus on multiple priorities and short and long term deadlinesMaintain the highest level of integrity and confidentialityEstablish and maintain cooperative relationships with clients, maintaining a warm and professional manner with a positive client relations and customer service mindsetPreferred :

Branch Showroom : A large, well-lit area displaying a variety of slabs and mosaic tile displays. This space would have organized sections for different materials (e.g., marble, granite, ceramic, porcelain) and design styles.On-the-Go Sales EnvironmentClient Visits : The salesperson may travel to construction sites, architectural firms, and clients' place of business.
Networking Events : The salesperson might also attend local trade shows, networking events, or product launches to stay updated on market trends and establish connections.
