About The Position

Job Title : X-Ray Technologist

Profession : Radiologic Technologist

Shift : Days / Evenings

Hours per Shift : 5x8.0

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience

License : NYS license (or ability to obtain prior to starting)

Certifications : Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Must-Have : Ability to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts

Description :

Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures.

Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians' written orders.

Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.

Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.

Handle all radiologic equipment safely and properly, keeping the dose to the patient as low as possible.

Observe each patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to meet their age-specific needs.

Produce a diagnostic, high-quality image for interpretation by the radiologist.

Promptly notify management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.

Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider.

Understand and practice the dual patient identifier procedure.

Maintain accurate patient record-keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.

Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.

Exhibit a patient and compassionate disposition.

Be a team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment.

Have the ability to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.

Possess experience using C-arm / O-arm in the past 8 months.

Maintain BLS certification (American Heart Association Only).
