Senior Payroll Manager
Invesco is searching for a seasoned Senior Payroll Manager with worldwide payroll experience. This person will manage multiple direct reports responsible for United States and Canadian payroll runs and off-cycle requests. The successful candidate will look to increase efficiency while adhering to proper controls. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with multiple departments as well as the third-party payroll provider. This position also is responsible for global execution of employee stock purchase plans, restricted stock plans and annual bonus plans as it applies to employee compensation included in payroll. The successful candidate will need to be flexible to address any payroll issues that might arise and lead projects for changes to processes and tools as necessary. Analytical skills are a must. There is significant data involved and the ability to catch issues before payroll is released is critical.
You will be responsible for :
- Ensuring that the United States and Canadian payroll process and related transactions are executed timely and accurately
- Overseeing a team responsible for routine payroll runs as well as off-cycle requests, ensuring compliance with rules / regulations and company policies
- Resolving escalations and partnering with key stakeholders to ensure reporting and other operational needs are met
- Ensuring adherence to the corporate payroll strategy and objectives
- Organizing and overseeing planning and execution of the payroll function and related services
- Managing relationship with payroll provider and other outsourcers as applicable
- Collaborating cross-functionally with other departments (e.g., Finance, Benefits, HR, IT)
- Directing and evaluating activities of assigned payroll team and employees engaged in collecting and recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payroll
- Overseeing and approving the payroll processing, payroll taxes, wage attachments
- Maintaining payroll standard operating procedures and oversight of the adherence to policy and procedures, as well as internal controls
- Measuring both individual and team performance relative to goals and objectives
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and controls, as well as compliance with external laws and regulatory guidance
- Responsible for oversight of payroll related accounting journal entries and reconciliations
- Investigating, reviewing and sign-off on resolutions to tax notices related to payroll filings
- Oversight and review of disbursements related to the employee stock purchase plan, bonus, dividends, and stock options
- Oversight and review of multi-state or country allocations for those employees who have earnings in multiple states or countries
- Collection of data required for external audit and coordination with the Tax Department for responses to the jurisdictions
The experience you bring :
