Position Summary
The Block Plant Laborer plays a vital role in supporting the daily production and operational activities of the concrete block manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for assisting with machine operation, handling raw materials, inspecting finished products, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. The Block Plant Laborer is expected to follow all safety guidelines and contribute to achieving plant production goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate block-making machinery and related production equipment under supervision.
Load and unload raw materials such as cement, sand, aggregates, and pallets.
Stack, sort, and package finished concrete products for storage and shipment.
Conduct basic inspections to ensure product quality meets company standards.
Assist with preventative maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs of equipment.
Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organized work area.
Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues to the supervisor.
Support the plant team in meeting daily production schedules and performance targets.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in manufacturing, construction, or concrete production is an asset.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and perform sustained physical labor in an industrial environment.
Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and safely operate machinery.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours as required by production demands.

Industrial plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, temperature variations, and outdoor elements.
Frequent standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and repetitive motion.
Required use of PPE, including but not limited to : safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and hard hats.
