About The Position

Anesthesiologist – Locum Opportunity

Location : Poughkeepsie, NY 12601

Start Date : November 2, 2025

Shift : 07 : 00 AM – 03 : 30 PM

We are seeking Anesthesiologists for locum coverage at a large medical center in Poughkeepsie, New York. This is a supplemental assignment with ongoing coverage needs. The site offers a collaborative environment with CRNA support and a wide variety of case types.

Key Details :

Case types include General, Neuro, Ortho, and OB

21 anesthesia rooms

CRNA to MD ratio : 3 : 1

MDs supervise CRNAs and also perform their own cases

Charting system : Cerner

No in-house or pager call required

Overtime offered but not expected

Estimated privileging timeframe : 60 days

Willing to license candidates who accept offers and apply promptly

Board certification or fellowship not required

Responsibilities :

Direct and coordinate activities in the Anesthesia Department

Manage patients undergoing surgery and medical procedures

Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain consent

Discuss anesthetic options and risks

Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia

Monitor physiological condition and intervene as needed

Requirements :

M.D. / D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine

Completion of approved residency in Anesthesia

ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
