As a Security Officer - Unarmed Corrections Patrols in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated correctional locations, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, supporting access control procedures, and delivering exceptional customer service through strong communication. Pay Rate : $17.95 / Hour

Job Schedule :

Wednesday 05 : 45 AM - 06 : 00 PM

Thursday 05 : 45 AM - 06 : 00 PM

Sunday 05 : 45 AM - 06 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies within a corrections environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or disturbances.
  • Monitor and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by verifying identification and / or credentials of individuals entering or exiting the location.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations or lockdowns as needed.
  • Document observations and incidents in detailed reports for Allied Universal and client records.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Access control and / or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
