Responsibilities Work in the Surgical Services department in a hospital setting with 12 operating rooms Patient population includes surgical cases such as Urology, Neuro, Ortho, Robotic, General, Podiatry, and ENT Pre-Op, PACU, and ICU-level care required post-operatively Patient ratios : OR 1 : 1, Pre-Op 1 : 2, PACU Phase I 1 : 1 or 1 : 2, PACU Phase II 1 : 2-3 Uses EPIC EMR system; experience preferred but not required 10-hour variable shifts with weekend rotation and on-call requirements (overnight per week and every 3rd weekend) Floating may be required to Pre-Op, PACU, or floor as needed Join a multidisciplinary team with RN / First Assist, surgical techs, anesthesiologists, nurse clinicians, and aides One week of unit and facility orientation provided Must cover 2 out of 4 major holidays as scheduled 15-minute response time required when on call; sleep rooms provided as needed Free parking and scrubs are provided Facility is traveler-friendly with strong support for renewals Requirements Active RN license from SD or a compact state Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Completion of an approved nursing education program Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma setting Demonstrated skills in ortho-trauma (including ORIF, ex-fix, amputations), neuro (craniotomy, spinal), general, and robotic procedures Experience in a tertiary care center required Pre-Op and PACU experience, including ICU-level skillset for PACU Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from the facility Not open to first-time travelers without approval Permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-615860.
