Title : Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location : Mission Viejo, CA
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Day Shift, 5x8-hour (07 : 00 - 15 : 30) — rotating start times between 07 : 00 and 10 : 30 as needed. Includes call coverage (1 shift per week 18 : 30–07 : 00 and weekends 16 : 30–08 : 00).
Job Responsibilities :
Operate cardiac ultrasound equipment to obtain optimal echocardiographic images for diagnostic evaluation.
Perform and analyze echocardiograms, including 2D / 3D Echo, Color Doppler, Bubble Studies, and Stress Echoes (Treadmill and Pharmacologic).
Conduct Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) and assist in specialized cardiac procedures such as TAVR and Watchman.
Perform calculations using Simpson’s Rule, Diastology, LV Strain / Volume, and Proximal Isovelocity Surface Area (PISA).
Provide diagnostic support for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality imaging and patient care.
Maintain equipment functionality and ensure adherence to imaging protocols and safety standards.
Participate in rotating weekend, holiday, and call coverage as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience : Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Echo Tech or Cardiac Sonographer (travel experience required).
Certifications : BLS; ARDMS or CCI RCS (either accepted).
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in adult echo procedures : 2D, 3D, Color Doppler, Bubble Study, Contrast Imaging, Stress Echos, TEE.
Familiarity with calculations such as Simpson’s Rule, LV Strain, Diastology, and PISA.
Equipment Experience : GE, Philips, Siemens, Toshiba, Hitachi, SonoSite, and PACS systems.
Work Setting Experience : Adult Acute Care, ICU, Emergency Department, Outpatient Cardiology, and Adult Echo Lab.
Additional Requirements :
Must hold a valid CA State License (no temporary licenses).
Must be available for rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Must be willing to float between affiliated hospitals if needed.
Preferred Experience : \nPediatric and Neonatal Echo\nTrauma Level I facility experience\n\n
