Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Southwest Michigan healthcare jobs) Facility Setting : 19-bed LDRP unit (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) Contract Length : 13-week travel nursing contract (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 – End : 3 / 9 / 2026) Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19 : 00 – 07 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary : $2000-$2050 Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend & every other holiday required Floating : May float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed Scrub Color : Provided Charting System : Cerner Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan or compact state (pending accepted) Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (2 years preferred) BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications (Advanced, Beginner, or Intermediate; pending accepted) Experience with Cerner electronic health records Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates) COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical / religious exemptions considered) Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules Strong professional conduct, reliability, and teamwork skills Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care for laboring mothers and newborns in a 19-bed LDRP unit Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk obstetric cases Administer medications and therapies (including blood products, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and more) Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns, perform APGAR scoring, and conduct newborn assessments Support breastfeeding and lactation, provide car seat safety education, and discharge teaching to families Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner Float to other nursing units or affiliate hospitals as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.) Uphold high standards of patient safety, infection control, and professional nursing conduct Discover the benefits of travel nursing in Michigan—enjoy Kalamazoo's lively downtown, top-rated restaurants, and easy access to outdoor adventures.
