Focus on pediatrics

OBJECTIVE SUMMARY : Responsible for providing comprehensive skilled OT evaluation and treatment of inpatients and outpatients consistent with AOTA, State, District, and departmental standards

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

This role will see patients in both Inpatient and Outpatient setting, adults and pediatrics.

Assess the patient’s Occupational Therapy needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION : Graduate of an Occupational Therapy School approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA in collaboration with the American Occupational Therapy Association or its equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION :   same as above

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE : Completion of all clinical internships

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : Prefer minimum of one year experience in adult patient inpatient in a rehabilitation / hospital setting, as well as outpatient clinic treatment, CHT.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS : Successful completion of national registration exam and license to practice in the State of Washington.

SKILLS :

WORK ENVIRONMENT :  Hospital inpatient and outpatient therapy environments. Potential exposure to infectious diseases.  Potential need to function in medical emergencies and incidents. Outreach in Community.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Lifting ability of up to 25 lbs. with proper technique.  Lifting and positioning of patients.  Working with people that are frustrated or depressed due to their lack of functional ability or other issues.  Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
