The Volare' rooftop bar at Element by Westin is seeking a passionate and motivated Cook to join our team. If you’re looking for a role that offers hands-on experience, a fun atmosphere, development, and career growth this is the perfect opportunity.
Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the restaurant menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff and deliver food in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a team environment and various cooking methods preferred.
Responsibilities
As a Line Cook you will :
- Prepare and cook menu items following recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards to ensure appealing and flavorful plates.
- Compose plates with attention to detail, ensuring each dish is visually appealing and meets quality standards.
- Execute cooking tasks in a timely manner to maintain service efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Label and date all prepared food items for proper storage, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Handle and store food items using sanitary practices to meet food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including coolers, storage areas, and workstations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to operating guidelines and maintenance protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team and management to uphold high standards of service and food quality.
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper food handling, temperature checks, and sanitation practices.
Physical Requirements
To perform the duties of this job, you must :
Be able to stand, walk, and move continuously for up to 8 hours.Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.Handle frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.Work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to heat, humidity, and cold storage areas.Safely operate kitchen equipment and tools.What We Offer
