Ophthalmology Physician

Facility : This established ophthalmology clinic is part of a respected healthcare network in the Upper Peninsula, providing comprehensive eye care services to the community. The facility features 3 exam rooms with efficient workflow systems and a supportive team environment including two highly knowledgeable medical assistants. Opportunity : Board Certified - Ophthalmology Job Details :

• Provide clinical ophthalmology services and surgical procedures in a busy practice setting
• Work two weeks on, two weeks off rotation schedule
• First week focused on surgeries and procedures; second week dedicated to follow-ups
• Monday to Friday schedule from 8AM-5PM with no call requirements
• Manage approximately 20 patient encounters per shift
• Must be productive, seeing no less than 4 clinic patients per hour
• Perform 12-14 procedures / surgeries per day
• Conduct required anterior segment procedures including cataract removals using various techniques (phacoemulsification, extracapsular extraction, intracapsular extraction)
• Handle intraocular lens implants, glaucoma procedures, and corneal procedures
• Perform intra-ocular injections as required
• Interpret ultrasound (A and B-Scan), photos, fluorescein angiography, and optical coherence tomography
• Must be able to administer injections
• Work with two supporting MAs who are highly efficient and knowledgeable
• BLS certification required
• Must have active Michigan license or be eligible through IMLC
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days Compensation : Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
