Accounting Manager SEC Reporting

As an Accounting Manager on the SEC Reporting team you will have a unique perspective into Capital Ones overall financial performance. Our team is responsible for managing the quarterly SEC reporting process analyzing our quarterly results and ensuring proper disclosure presenting these results and disclosure updates to the Controller and his leadership team and producing other external reporting such as the quarterly Capital and Liquidity reports as well as the Canada Branch Foundation and Pension financial statements. You will also work with an outstanding team to identify process efficiency and implement solutions. You will have the opportunity to be involved in progressive project work with exposure to senior management and various departments across the Company.

Responsibilities :

Analysis and summarization of consolidated results into a presentation for senior leadership

Build cross functional relationships to stay attuned to business changes and key events that will impact financial results

Ensure our consolidated / reported results are complete and accurate and in accordance with the appropriate accounting standards

Assist in the preparation and review of periodic reports

Work with reporting stakeholders to ensure alignment on quantitative and qualitative disclosures

Participate in key corporate projects such as system upgrades process automations and enhancements

Help evolve our processes into the next generation by implementing emerging technology tools to reimagine the future

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelors degree or military experience

At least 5 years of experience in accounting OR audit OR finance OR a combination

Preferred Qualifications :

7 years of experience in accounting or audit or a combination

3 years of experience in external reporting

1 year of experience in people management

2 years of experience in operational accounting

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago IL : $132800 - $151600 for Manager Accounting

McLean VA : $146100 - $166700 for Manager Accounting

Richmond VA : $132800 - $151600 for Manager Accounting

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
