Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, rotating Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Med / Surg assignment in an acute care setting, requiring a WV or compact RN license and strong patient care skills. Responsibilities Position is in a 30-bed Med / Surg overflow unit within an acute care hospital Patient ratios range from 1 : 6 to 1 : 7 Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI, and post-surgical cases Patients are monitored via remote telemetry, with monitor techs Heparin drips titrated based on aPTT results are required Nurse aides (PCTs) are present on the unit for support Uses Epic EMR, prior experience preferred 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, including scheduled weekends Travelers may be required to float based on census, with external travelers floated first No on-call responsibilities Navy blue scrubs are required for this unit Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Weekend and holiday shifts will be assigned as needed, typically half the weekends Returning travelers must have a two-year break if previously employed within any WVU facility, and cumulative assignments cannot exceed one year without a break Travelers support patient care delivery and coordination with an assigned charge RN and team structure Requirements Active WV or compact RN license required for consideration Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience required Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required Ability to manage a 1 : 7 patient ratio Must provide an unexpired driver's license for eligibility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-634738.
