Job Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team! In this role, you will perform vital duties including specimen collection, receiving, and referrals to ensure outstanding patient care and laboratory operation.

- Comply with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety, and privacy standards for health information (PHI).
- Keep the collection area, supplies, and equipment neat, sanitary, and fully stocked.
- Collaborate with the team lead to procure necessary supplies for the department.
- Perform varied patient specimen collections, including venipuncture, capillary, urine drug screens, and cultures.
- Ensure specimen integrity and adherence to requirements during collection.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and co-workers.
- Use the laboratory computer system for documenting specimen information and other tasks.
- Take on additional duties as assigned, including inventory management and special projects.
- Participate in performance evaluations and competency assessments in a timely manner.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred.Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program with phlebotomy training preferred.Familiarity with medical terminology, data entry, and organizational skills.Experience :
Preferred one year of phlebotomy experience.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
Preferred - Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).Preferred - Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or state licensure, if applicable.As part of CHRISTUS Health policy, all associates must obtain necessary certifications within the designated timeframe.
Work Schedule : 2 : 30 PM - 11 PM
