Phlebotomist

Job Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team! In this role, you will perform vital duties including specimen collection, receiving, and referrals to ensure outstanding patient care and laboratory operation.

• Comply with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety, and privacy standards for health information (PHI).
• Keep the collection area, supplies, and equipment neat, sanitary, and fully stocked.
• Collaborate with the team lead to procure necessary supplies for the department.
• Perform varied patient specimen collections, including venipuncture, capillary, urine drug screens, and cultures.
• Ensure specimen integrity and adherence to requirements during collection.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and co-workers.
• Use the laboratory computer system for documenting specimen information and other tasks.
• Take on additional duties as assigned, including inventory management and special projects.
• Participate in performance evaluations and competency assessments in a timely manner.
