Environmental Service Worker

The Environmental Service Worker focuses on Infection Control and Prevention by providing proper cleaning and sanitation throughout the hospital and assigned site campuses. Reports to : Supervisor, Environmental Services.

Job Specific Responsibilities :

• Perform cleaning projects, providing support to coordinate and complete minor maintenance tasks, moves, and set ups
• Facilitate employee training and development
• Perform area inspections to evaluate and monitor quality performance, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and infection control standards.
• Maintain current area specific records, supply / equipment, and inventory control.
• Assist housekeeping and floor technicians with cleaning patient rooms, isolation rooms, and all other common areas to patient, visitors, and staff, when needed; Cleaning requires exposure to blood, blood borne pathogens, and bodily fluids
• All other assigned duties related to Environmental Services

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships :

This position will have interaction with patients, their families, and hospital medical staff.

Physical Capabilities :

Requires wear or personal protective equipment (PPE); Ability to lift / move various types of equipment, supplies / chemicals, and furniture of light / medium weight. Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and stretching.

Environmental / Working Conditions :

This position is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes that may include varying temperatures. Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning supplies and blood / blood borne pathogens is high risk.
