Job Summary
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will deliver a wide range of respiratory services under physician orders, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation. You will plan, implement, and evaluate therapy effectiveness while collaborating closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and timely respiratory care, assessing patient needs and interpreting test results to develop treatment plans.
- Administer therapies such as bronchopulmonary drainage, breathing exercises, and monitor physiological responses.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper function through regular inspections.
- Participate in discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and assistive equipment.
- Contribute to departmental policies, training programs, and workflow coordination within the care team.
Education and Experience
Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.Licenses and Certifications
Current unrestricted state Respiratory Care Practitioner license.National Board for Respiratory Care Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.Skills and Abilities
