Overview

The Principal Software Engineer is a member and technical leader of an agile-oriented cross-functional team that leverages software to solve real-world problems. Principal Software Engineers actively develop new software code and maintain existing code with a high degree of quality, leveraging strong software design principles, ingenuity, creativity, attention to detail, and analytical skills to devise unique and innovative software solutions—and coach others along the way. Principal Software Engineers work to determine the feasibility and efficacy of department requirements and product specifications, build and maintain automation test suites, and provide support to understand, debug, and resolve issues found by customers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Validate technical feasibility criteria and next steps and provide guidance based on architectural software requirements and strategy.
• Lead the design and development of the test automation framework and any in-house tools required.
• Ensure high-quality software deliverables by leveraging automation and tooling best practices.
• Review code for quality assurance and ensure engineering team is cognizant of QA best practices.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and isolate software problems.
• Offer strategic solutions, analysis, and advice regarding identified issues for future development.
• Review, oversee, and lead integration of solutions with other applications and platforms.
• Lead defining of development guidelines and standards.
• Monitor the stability and usability of the platforms across all environments.
