This fire alarm design consultancy, who provides specialist design support for fire detection and alarms, voice alarms and emergency communication systems are looking to recruit an experienced fire alarm systems design engineer based in the Midlands or North of England, to join their busy team working remotely, although site and customer visits will be expected. The successful applicant will need a a blend of technical and estimating expertise in fire alarm systems design, having delivered accurate designs for medium to large scale fire detection projects within the MEP building services i.e. data centres, hospitals, commercial buildings etc. Key responsibilities include all facets of estimating (cost budgets, proposals, solutions), preconstruction design for fire, PA / VA, EVC (cause and effect matrix, site schematics, BS 5839 certification) and the added responsibilities of contributing to business strategy development.
Candidates will need in depth knowledge of fire alarm, PA, VA, emergency comms and the electrical side of suppression systems, including all relevant regulations and standards, FIA certification, excellent knowledge of BS5839, BS6266 and EN54, proficiency in AutoCAD, familiarity with Revit and BIM technologies and ideally a SCSC card for site visits / surveys. Quite obviously attention to detail, strong communication skills and self-motivation are necessary attributes. This exciting opportunity to work for a design consultancy comes with a basic salary up to £60,000 plus package, and for the right candidate this will develop into a more senior roe within the business
