Responsibilities :
The Information Technology Department (IT) is seeking a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) resource to serve as a CMDB Analyst. The full-time supplemental Configuration Management Database (CMDB) resource is requested for a period of twelve (12) months to maintain high-quality configuration and asset data, enabling the organization to make better business and IT decisions, reduce risk, and optimize costs. The candidate will work at the direction of the ITAM Manager.
As part of this proposal, the proposer shall :
- Describe its approach for a good faith effort to include Diverse Business (DB) partners.
- Identify any certified DB partners that will be used for this engagement, along with their meaningful role in the project.
- If no DB partner is included in this Work Order response, please include in your response which DB vendors you reached out to and the reasons they were not able to participate in the project.
- The awarded contractor shall provide DB reporting in conjunction with work order invoicing
Description of Duties
During the period of this statement of work, the Candidate will perform the following duties :
Own and manage day-to-day CMDB operations within ServiceNow, ensuring configuration data is reliable and trusted.Ensure asset and configuration data is accurate, complete, and aligned with ITAM lifecycle requirements and CSDM standards.Apply data quality rules, reconciliation logic, and certification activities to improve accuracy and consistency across multiple data sources.Partner with the ServiceNow team to optimize discovery tools, integrations, and automation, minimizing duplication and strengthening overall data accuracy.Generate health dashboards, reports, and metrics that demonstrate CMDB accuracy, compliance, and alignment with CSDM.Provide CMDB insights and support for impact analysis related to incidents, changes, and requests, enabling stronger decision-making.Required Skills :
The ideal candidate will have three or more (3+) years of focused experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ITAM, and ITSM disciplines :
Strong understanding of IT Asset Management principles (hardware, software, contracts, lifecycle management).Strong experience with ServiceNow CMDB data model, discovery, and integrations.Knowledge of ITAM and ITIL processes is a must.Excellent analytical skills, with ability to identify data quality issues and resolve them.Strong communication and collaboration skills across IT, ITSM, and Business stakeholders.Proactive and business-value mindset focused on data integrity, compliance, and lifecycle optimization.Ability to collaborate across IT and ITSM teams to solve problems, improve processes, and continuously enhance CMDB accuracy and maturity.Additional beneficial skills include :
