A leading plastics manufacturer in Austin is seeking a Process Engineer to support and optimize current manufacturing operations. This role will focus on automation, troubleshooting process inefficiencies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, yield, and throughput. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in engineering principles and thrives in a hands-on, cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes for inefficiencies, low yields, and quality issues; recommend and implement process improvements
  • Monitor and troubleshoot non-conforming product issues and recurring process deviations
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to integrate new products or process changes into current lines
  • Support automation initiatives to streamline production, reduce manual labor, and improve consistency
  • Collect, organize, and analyze process data to identify trends and root causes of failures
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for engineering and plant leadership
  • Support operator training and documentation related to new or updated processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in a process or manufacturing engineering role (plastics or injection molding preferred)
  • Strong understanding of process optimization and quality assurance methodologies
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen
  • Working knowledge of automation systems or exposure to PLC-driven equipment is a plus
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
