How You Make An Impact
The Tooling Shop Planner develops, executes, maintains and schedules the tooling shop activities to achieve internal customer shipping dates and assures the meeting of operational goals in accordance with the business objectives and is responsible to deploy new Die build projects according the business needs. Under moderate supervision of the Tooling Shop supervisor or manager, this position uses knowledge about machining & tooling, capacity constraints and best practices in performing planning activities, identifying the optimal suppliers for components and services, and ensuring timely processing of all data in SAP. The Tooling Shop Planner provides detailed schedules for components and finished goods for the tooling shop team and provides tracking of the jobs that are in process.
The Details
Plan, coordinate, and schedule tooling shop activities to meet internal deadlines, including material and service demands, production orders, and supplier logistics using SAP. Maintain and update documentation, including BOMs, routings, SOPs, and master data, while ensuring timely communication of project timelines and constraints. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, support lean manufacturing efforts, and contribute to the development of planning methodologies and standard work processes. Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, engineering, and production teams to resolve quality issues, manage capacity constraints, and ensure efficient workflow execution.
Skills And Experience
Manufacturing & Planning Expertise : 5+ years of experience, including 13 years in supply chain planning, purchasing, inventory, and financial analysis within manufacturing environments. Technical & Analytical Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and SAP; skilled in blueprint reading, BOM structures, geo-dimensioning, and cost tracking. Problem Solving & Communication : Strong analytical decision-making abilities with clear written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences. Initiative & Continuous Improvement : Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead change, contribute to lean initiatives, and develop standard work documentation.
Availability
Day Shift Schedule + Monday Thursday + 4 / 10 hour shifts + Start time ranges between 5 : 30a-7 : 30a, as agreed upon with manager
Compensation
At Oregon Tool, we provide a reasonable, good-faith estimate of the compensation range for this role of $70,000.00 - $80,000.00. Final offers are based on various factors such as experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. This range may vary based on geographic location where the position is filled, and most new hires are not typically hired at the top of the range.
