School-Based Physical Therapist (PT) Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Physical Therapist (PT) to join our educational team. In this role, the PT will support students with physical and motor challenges by promoting access to learning, mobility, and independence in the school environment. The PT will assess students, develop individualized treatment plans, and work closely with educators, families, and related service providers to support student success.
Position Details :
Schedule : MondayFriday, 8 : 00 AM 2 : 30 PM
Hours : 20 hours per week
Caseload : 9 students receiving direct services, 6 students on consult
Student Ages : 522 years
Key Responsibilities :
Evaluate students to identify physical and functional needs within the school setting
Develop and implement therapy goals as part of the IEP (Individualized Education Program) team
Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to support student access and participation
Educate and train school staff and families on strategies, equipment use, and mobility support
Document services and maintain compliance with state and district guidelines
Qualifications :
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist
Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
