Technical Records Specialist 2
The Idaho Industrial Commission is seeking a Technical Records Specialist 2 to review and interpret statutes, rules, and regulations to determine employer coverage under Idaho's Workers' Compensation Insurance Law. This position evaluates business operations to identify and resolve worker misclassification issues and performs related administrative work.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Researches and analyzes Employer Compliance records, business documents, policy databases, and other resources to determine compliance with the Workers' Compensation Insurance Law.
- Performs detailed analysis of Idaho Business Registrations, Department of Labor wage data, Secretary of State business filings, and related employer records to determine liability for insurance coverage.
- Evaluates business operations and processes to determine proper worker classification and resolve misclassification issues.
- Conducts fact-finding interviews to gather information about business operations to support liability determinations.
- Researches, interprets, and explains statutes, agency rules, policies, and compliance procedures to employers, employer representatives, medical professionals, insurance agents, and carriers.
- Explains policy-reporting and proof-of-coverage requirements to employer representatives, insurance agents, and carriers.
- Monitors incoming Employer Compliance data and policy information to ensure appropriate processing and compliance with Idaho coverage requirements.
- Reviews canceled policy reports, prepares and processes notices of non-compliance, tracks employer responses, and issues follow-up notices as needed.
Minimum Experience :
Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors while interpreting, explaining, and applying laws.Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems.Explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments.Experience communicating verbally and in writing with a variety of people to effectively gather and document information.Storing, entering, and retrieving data using a computerized records system.Using spreadsheet software.Retrieves and compiles information in a report format using data-based software.Uses word processing software to create and modify documents.Desirable :
Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies.Experience analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to develop conclusions and resolve complex issues.Experience working with complex data or technical information that requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and good time management skills.Good working knowledge of Idaho workers' compensation insurance law.Why Join Us?
