Job description

Overview

Since 1961, NERA has provided unparalleled guidance on the most important market, legal, and regulatory questions of the day. We shape industries and policy worldwide through rigorous analysis, reliable expert testimony, and data-powered policy recommendations. We are looking for a Researcher in the Market Design and Auctions Group located in our New York City office. This role involves quantitative and qualitative methods to design and manage auctions, develop bidding strategies, and analyze market rules and pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently within a team environment on client advisory projects and litigation casework.
  • Design and conduct radio spectrum auctions, perform empirical analyses, model economic behavior, and interface with regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and analyze bidding strategies for auction participants and assess market pricing mechanisms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong academic record with exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex analyses clearly and coherently.
  • Desired Skills

  • Prior experience in communications, radio spectrum, or energy markets.
  • Master's degree in economics, business, or environmental studies.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language, especially Spanish.
  • Interest and / or experience in Game Theory.
  • Location & Travel

    New York City office. Up to 15% domestic and overseas travel.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary $95,000 – $105,000 per year.
