Description : JOB SUMMARY :
The Patient Account Representative performs general office functions related to the Billing Department. This includes but is not limited to assisting patients over the phone and occasionally in person, filing and auditing insurance claims, and responding to correspondence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Assists patient with their accounts
2. Files and audits insurance claims
3. Responds to correspondence regarding patient accounts
4. Audits and reconciles patient accounts
5. Proactively recognizes the need for process improvements and informs appropriate parties accordingly
6. Maintains weekly and monthly production reports for administration
7. Effectively communicates with team members as well as management.
8. Maintains clean and orderly work areas
9. Maintains regular and predictable attendance
10. Adheres to APC policies and procedures
11. Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
Requirements : QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : High school diploma or G.E.D. and on to three years related experience or training.
Experience : One to three years of related experience or training, or a satisfactory combination of experience, education, and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
