Job Summary :

As a Systems Service Engineer, you'll be the go-to person to create and maintain system testing tools from existing engineering scripts for testing systems post installation. You will create menu driven tools for the onsite installation services team for Supermicro. You are also responsible for resolving escalated service tool issues, coaching other engineers to resolution. You will be a person who is self-motivated with the ability to develop and maintain these tools as new customer systems are rolled into production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned) :

  • Execute comprehensive system-level tests on latest NVidia and AMD GPUs, ARM-based, Intel Xeon, and AMD EPYC systems, encompassing functionality, compatibility, performance, stress, and reliability testing, leveraging proprietary in-house tools.
  • Build menu driven bootable drives from engineering IOS packages for testing the various Supermicro production systems.
  • Consolidate and maintain up-to-date packages for system validation, testing, load-testing and log capturing post installation
  • Deliver on-site deployment services, ensuring customer acceptance verification and providing post-level 1&2 support. Create and maintain technical documentation, including technical notes, blogs, and diagrams, to facilitate knowledge dissemination.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and other Engineering teams to integrate and develop new and existing scripts and tools for system testing.
  • Document and analyze test plans, reports, logs, and actively contribute to the development of test utilities and automation scripts to streamline testing processes.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 4+ years of Linux scripting, debugging / testing or relevant experience preferred
  • 2+ years experience in servicing x86 systems and parts
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) skills and certification would be a bonus
  • Programming experience with windows and Linux shell scripting
  • Strong sense of teamwork and good team player, strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, develop and implement new processes.
  • Familiar with Intel / AMD / NVIDIA development tool kits such as CUDA, oneAPI, ROCm is a plus
  • Experience with server / network hardware debugging and troubleshooting is a plus
  • Salary Range

    $70,000 - $100,000

    The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
