Job Goal :
To assist the Nutrition USDA Manager in coordinating healthy meals for UMHS classrooms and support nutrition staff ensuring they are provided proper tools, support, and supervision to be successful in their role.
Essential Responsibilities :
Mentor cooks on meal preparation and food service
Assist with training of Cooks and Cook AssistantsComplete Food services orders as need arisesProvide coverage for Cooks and Cook Assistants as neededAssist in mealtime monitors at each Head Start and Early Head Start siteAssist with menu distribution to classroomsEnsure all required USDA / CACFP forms are completed and maintained as required in CACFP regulationsMentor Cooks on necessary paperwork to assist in maintaining compliance with Head Start and CACFP regulationsSupervisionSupervise three to four Cooks and Cook Assistants
Conduct evaluations and assist in setting, developing, and tracking professional development goalsFacilitate onboarding and provide continuous training and feedback for staff membersGeneral Staff Responsibilities :
Participate in staff meetings, conferences, training sessions and workshops as assignedDemonstrate familiarity with employment policies, performance standards, work plan and objectives of OrganizationMaintain congenial and respectful relations with staff, children, families and communityKeep current and accurate records and file reports on timeMaintain confidentiality in regards to staff and family informationMaintain objectives and professional standardsImprove self‐skills and educationFulfill role as mandated reporter as stated in Child Abuse and Neglect PolicyBe present at work in order to provide consistency of servicesBe a contributory team member in a positive / productive mannerDemonstrate commitment to mission, values, and policies in the performance of daily dutiesAnd or any other duties deemed necessary by your supervisorEducation Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalentExperience and Skills Requirements :
Two years of Food Service experienceOne year of supervision experienceCACFP Food Service experience (preferred)Previous Head Start parent or experience (preferred)Experience working with young children (preferred)Physical Requirements :

Current enrollment in the Child Care Division’s Central Background RegistryCurrent physical examination, drug screen, and TB screen documentation prior to hireAbility to drive a private or Agency vehicle; must possess a valid driver's license and personal automobile or provide a plan that will allow fulfillment of position requirements.
