About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - Dialysis

Profession : Nursing

Shift : M / W / F

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of recent Dialysis experience, preferably in a hospital setting

License : Must have a valid RN license

Certifications : Must have ACLS & BLS certifications

Must-Have :

• Familiarity with Fresenius machines and Centurion RO systems
• Proficiency in peritoneal dialysis; PD experience with Liberty Cycler preferred

Description :

Plans and provides patient care for adult and geriatric patients in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies and procedures.

Provides quality direct patient care and renal replacement therapies independently, in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner.

Supervises and directs patient care of other teammates in a treatment area that may or may not be licensed.

Interacts and communicates with hospital partners in a collaborative and respectful manner.

Gives pre- and post-treatment reports through an appropriate reporting process to the primary registered nurse.

Documents patient physical assessments, vital signs, treatment reviews, and observations in patient medical records.

Brings issues to the attention of the physician and primary nurse.

Documents, evaluates, and implements dialysis orders.

Analyzes patient assessments, dialysis orders, and laboratory results, and discusses issues with the nephrologist.

Communicates emergencies, patient life-threatening complications, and related incidents to the supervisor and hospital staff.

Provides initiation and discontinuation of the prescribed renal replacement therapy.

Formulates a plan per physician orders and verifies safety measures are in place and complied with.

Administers medications or other appropriate treatments and documents all activity appropriately on the hemodialysis flow sheet or electronic medical record.
