Description :
The position is for a Physical Therapist in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
The shift is five days a week during the day.
The therapist will have a patient-to-therapist ratio of approximately 1 : 5, managing 7-8 visits per day.
Common patient diagnoses include stroke, amputations, and post-surgical conditions.
Special procedures performed by the therapist include gait training, therapeutic exercise, balance and transfer training, and family training for discharge planning.
Therapists will report on patient progress and plan of care once a week during team conferences.
The physical therapists will utilize specialized equipment such as Lite Gait body weight support during therapy sessions.
The role involves working primarily with adult and geriatric populations.
The daily census varies.
The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretaries.
Complete knowledge in rehabilitative procedures and techniques is essential for success in this role.
Travelers must be willing to float within the facility or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
Candidates with previous charge experience, patient ratio experience, and travel experience are preferred.
Candidates must be willing to provide a copy of required certifications prior to the start of employment.
All health and safety protocols, including the COVID-19 and flu vaccine requirements, must be adhered to.
Professional conduct is taken very seriously, and issues may result in contract termination.
